
Matt has 18 years teaching and coaching, from non-swimmers to International. He was a former Head Coach at Bridgend County Swim Squad and National Youth Development Coach for Swim Wales National Squads. We love to delve deep down in to our coaches and what they have done through the years. Matts Achievements –
– Coached swimmers to success and medals at British, Welsh, English, Regional & County Championships, in both pool & Open Water
– Coached multiple swimmers to squad selections for Swim Wales National Squads, Swim Wales Para Squads, Swim England Talent Squads, along with London Region and Middlesex County Squads
– Swimmers coached selected for Welsh Triathlon Junior & Youth Squads
– Swimmers coached selected for British & Welsh Youth Surf Lifeguard Squads
– Selected as Head Coach for Swim Wales WEST at 2019 Inter County Championships
– Selected as a coach for Swim Wales Silver Development Programme (2018 to Present), Swim England Pathway Coach Development Programme (2018), Swim England Open Water Talent Team, Swim Wales Para Squads
– Swim Wales Young Coach of the Year – 2010
– Over 300+ hours of volunteering for City of Cardiff and Swim Wales through the Millennium Volunteer Scheme
– Multiple athletes selected for welsh triathlon youth and seniors
– Multiple athletes competing In iron man swims and events such as windermere

– Worked as an assistant to Olympic Coaches Dave Haller MBE and Keith Bewley in both 2012 (David Davies & Ieaun Lloyd) and in 2014 (6 Commonwealth Games selections for Team Wales)

Matt as some big goals for 2024
With 2024 fast approaching, it’s nearly time for Matt and Sam to start their “24 in 2024” for Noah’s Ark Tiny Lives appeal. Their FIRST challenge for January will running 100km (each) over the whole month. On average it’s 3.3km (ish) a day.
